Eye EasyUtils Eye Break
20-20-20 timer

Take a 20-second distance break without overthinking it.

The 20-20-20 pattern is a simple screen habit: every 20 minutes, look at something about 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. EasyUtils turns that idea into a private browser timer you can start between work blocks, study sessions, meetings, games, or long reading stretches.

What the timer does

The distance break exercise starts a short countdown and gives you one clear cue: look away from the screen and settle your gaze on a real object farther away. It avoids scores, streak pressure, and medical claims. The point is to interrupt a fixed near-screen stare and give your eyes a calmer visual target for a moment.

It is especially useful when you keep ignoring full break reminders. A 20-second action is easier to accept than a long pause, so it can fit into the small gaps between commits, calls, chapters, queue times, or spreadsheet passes.

1. Choose Distance

Select the Distance exercise in the app. The default 20-second duration matches the classic break pattern.

2. Look beyond the screen

Pick a window view, a wall object, or anything farther away. Keep your face relaxed and avoid squinting.

3. Return gently

When the countdown ends, notice how your eyes feel before returning to the task. Repeat during long sessions.

Safety and scope

This is a screen break tool, not medical treatment, vision therapy, or a replacement for an eye exam. Stop if you notice pain, dizziness, nausea, new blur, double vision, flashes, or unusual discomfort. Seek professional care if symptoms persist or worry you.
